As the founder of the groundbreaking On-U Sound label in 1980 and the reggae reissue specialist Pressure Sounds, Adrian Sherwood gained a worldwide reputation in the reggae business. But as he tells us in this lecture at the 2002 Red Bull Music Academy, alongside his engineer Nick Coplowe, he has also worked as a producer, studio technician and remixer. Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, the Cure, Yazz and Living Colour are just a few of the many artists he has blessed with his mixes, in addition to this collaborations with legendary reggae singers and producers including Prince Far I, Bim Sherman and the infamous Lee “Scratch” Perry.
